Your storage allowance
Every Knotful account comes with a generous storage allowance for photos, documents, and other files you upload. The default is 10 GB — enough for thousands of photos and supporting documents.
Where to see your usage
The progress bar at the top of your portal shows how much storage you've used and how much remains:
- Used — total bytes occupied by your photos, gallery files, and documents
- Remaining — what's still available before you hit the cap
- Visual indicator — the bar turns amber at 80% and red at 100%
Auto-compression saves space
Every image you upload is automatically optimized by Knotful Compress. This typically reduces file sizes by 40–70% with no visible quality loss, so you can upload more before hitting your limit. You'll see "saved X%" notes after each upload.
What to do if you're close to the limit
- Review your photo gallery and remove duplicates
- Delete files from the Trash to free space (otherwise they're purged after 30 days automatically)
- Contact us if you need a larger allowance — we'll always work something out
What counts
Photos, documents, and any file you upload through your portal or the Knotful Gallery counts against the limit. Smart-tag emails, RSVPs, and text content do not.
