Setting up your gift registry

The Registry tab in your portal lets you list gift ideas with links to external stores or self-hosted requests like a honeymoon fund.

Adding registry items

1. Open your portal and click the Registry tab
2. Click + Add item
3. Enter a title, optional description, price, and image URL
4. Add an external URL if the item is on Amazon, Crate & Barrel, Zola, etc.
5. Set the quantity available — useful for items where multiple guests could contribute (e.g. "honeymoon fund: $2000" with quantity 20 representing $100 per share)
6. Optional: assign a category (Kitchen, Honeymoon, Home) to group items on your public registry page

How guests claim items

Each registry item has a Claim button on your public site. When a guest clicks it, they enter their name and confirm. The item then shows as partially or fully claimed, so other guests don't accidentally buy duplicates.

External items also show a View on store button that opens the store URL in a new tab.

Tracking claims

In your portal, each item shows the count of claims (e.g. "3 / 5 claimed") and the names of the people who claimed. Once an item is fully claimed, it's marked as such on the public site.
