Sending digital invitations

From the Invitations tab in your portal, you can compose and send digital save-the-dates or formal invitations to everyone on your guest list. Each guest receives a personalized email with their unique RSVP link.

Templates

Three built-in templates are available:

• Classic — Traditional, formal language
• Minimal — Short and elegant
• Casual — Friendly and informal

You can edit any template before sending and preview how the email will look.

Smart placeholders

Use these placeholders in your invitation text and they'll be replaced for each recipient:

• {{guest_name}} — The guest's name
• {{partner_names}} — Your names (e.g., "Sarah & James")
• {{event_date}} — Your wedding date, formatted
• {{ceremony_location}} — Your ceremony venue
• {{reception_location}} — Your reception venue
• {{rsvp_url}} — The guest's personalized RSVP link
• {{site_url}} — Your public wedding site URL

Delivery

Emails go through whatever SMTP setup the site uses (typically configured via Knotful Mailer for reliable delivery). After sending, the system tracks how many emails went out successfully.
